New Direct Funding Possibilities for Education and Training as Part of “go International” Presented in Budapest

On November 12, 2009, an Austrian Business Circle was held on the topic “direct funding for education and training of employees” in the Austrian Trade Commission in Budapest. The event was organized in cooperation with WIFI Hungaria.

Background of the Business Circle was the possibility of direct funding for companies for education and training launched by AUSTRIAN TRADE of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber for the first time in late October within the framework of the Internationalization Initiative "go International”. Austrian SMEs with branch offices in Europe can benefit from funding for education and training of their staff until March 2011, if they invest in Austrian training know-how of renowned educational institutions such as WIFI. The funding opportunities were presented in detail by Dr. Teoman-Brenner.

At the Austrian Business Circle, WIFI Hungaria and WIFI International introduced themselves as well. WIFI Hungaria presented ongoing and new education and training opportunities in Hungary to the company representatives attending - with the slogan "theory is gray, practice is green!" WIFI International reported on new trends in education and current activities in already 8 CEE countries.

Interested entrepreneurs from various sectors of industry (logistics, banking, graphic & design, environmental engineering, telecommunications and software) participated in the event: e.g. Gebrüder Weiss and some more. The Austrian Business Circle was well received, and it is planned to conduct similar events in cooperation with other partner-WIFIs in Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
